Friday Faves
iPhone 4s - I picked one up last Friday, when they released, at an AT&T store. Sara badly needed a new phone so I gave her my 4. I used her upgrade but put it on my line. You know, just in case that 5 comes out next summer. The 4s is super fast and Siri has really come in handy when driving or biking. Being able to just say "Text Sara 'On my way home' " and it does is really cool. The only problem I have encountered is that the battery does not last as long as the 4 and I don't think I am using it any different.
Coldplay "Mylo Xyloto" - This is gonna be a top 3 album of the year for me. Plus I can't get "Paradise" out of my head.
Onward: How Starbucks Fought for Its Life without Losing Its Soul - I've been enjoying the iBook version the past few months. I love the honesty from Howard Schultz and insight into how he helped turn the company around in 2008..."One cup. One customer. One partner. One experience at a time." I highly recommend it for any leader of their company to read this. Seriously.
Yazoo Fall Lager - I got a growler of it the first Saturday they had it. It's much better than last year's Fall Ale. A perfect beer for this time of year.
Jane's Addiction "The Great Escape Artist" - Catchy songs with killer guitar riffs and solos plus bad ass drumming.

Top 5: Pearl Jam b-sides
I've been jammin' a lot this year thanks to Live On Ten Legs, the Vs./Vitalogy reissues, and the PJ20 soundtrack. Their catalog of releases in 20 years is extremely extensive, way beyond just the 9 studio albums. So in honor of PJ20 hitting theaters this week here's my Top 5 Pearl Jam b-sides.

Top 5: Light Beers
Sometimes my Friday Faves center around one topic but are usually just various faves of the moment. So in honor of Rob Gordon I have decided to start a new category of specific posts that center on all times faves...my Top 5's.
This week's entry is dedicated to light beers. Yes, even a beer knurd like myself needs to have a "go to" light beer. Especially when your mug in a beer club is 20oz.
1. Yuengling Light Lager: the light version of the classic PA amber lager from America's oldest brewery (since 1829). And only 99 calories.
2. Lionshead Light: another classic from PA...this one from Wilkes-Barre. This light version of their deluxe pilsner clocks in at 120 calories.
3. Sam Adams Light: I loved this before the traditional Sam Adams Boston Lager. Probably the best tasting light beer there is. 124 calories.
4. Karl Strauss Endless Summer Light: A perfect California summer beer. And only 110 calories.
5. Schell's Original Light: from New Ulm, Minnesota the home of America's 2nd oldest brewery (since 1860). 100 calories.
Everything in TX is big...except this..but I can't list it in my top 5 because I've never had it. But I do love a lot of the beers from Spoetzl Brewery. Shiner Light Blonde: Only 99 calories.
