Tuesday Tune: Tiny Light by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

I'm normally not a huge fan of female fronted music. The Cardigans have been my ultimate favorite (since I can't count Fleetwood Mac because Lindsey Buckingham sings too). I loved the last Brooke Fraser and Metric albums. But I really liked the song "Apologies" on the last Grace Potter and the Nocturnals album 3 years ago and have been a fan since. This song and the new self-tited album it's from releases June 8. If you share this new video on your Facebook page you can get mp3 for FREE.  Also, check out this killer performance on Ellen yesterday...because when the video reaches 2:45 you'll hear exactly why it's killer.

Tuesday Tune: How You Like Me Now by The Heavy

Their last album made my Top 10 of 2008 and surprisingly I didn't even know they released a new album in October of last year until I saw the new Kia commercial on the Super Bowl (if you pay attention you'll see their new album cover).

Anyways, this band is SICK. Their last album is great and so is the new album. Plus no matter how many times I see that new Kia commercial I love watching it. Perfect song placement.

Tuesday Tune: Close Your Eyes by Abandon Kansas

I try not to pimp out bands I work with too much from my site or from my Twitter account unlike so many of my friends in the biz. But when it comes to Abandon Kansas I have to spread the word when I can because I am extremely proud to be working with these guys and I feel their music and work goes unnoticed.

As I wrote in back in July I'm glad I could have my friends Mark Lee Townsend, JR McNeely, Ethan Luck, and Eddy Boer help me create an EP that sounded and looked amazing. So when the time came to shoot a video I was excited that I could reach out to Nathan Corrona again and ask him to direct a video for their song "Close Your Eyes". My only direction was to have some or all of the video in black & white to keep the marketing consistent with that of the EP cover. The above video is the result and I am extremely proud of it. Ok, time to get off my soapbox.

Tuesday Tune: Wheels by Foo Fighters

I love it. Does it sound like it could be a Tom Petty song? Yes. But what's wrong with that? Lyrically I feel it fits into a lot of the songs from "E, S, P & G".
