Yes, that is my last name and I’ve heard it all…trust me. I’m 31 years of age and currently live in the southern United States in Franklin, TN. After over a year out of the “music biz”, spending some of it working with t-shirts at Zambooie.com, I’m back at the job I love as as A&R for Gotee Records. Not many people can say that they love their job, so I count myself lucky.
For just over a year, starting in June of 2007, I had to go through the most painful time of my life. But it also happened to be the most brightest spiritually for me. Why? Because I know He can take any crisis, trial, tribulation or whatever you want to call it and create good out of it. Plus, I know He doesn’t let anything happen that we can’t handle. I believe, and know, I have done all I can and so I move forward in the faith that I am in His hands. I am living life to the fullest and excited for the future He has for me.
In 2002 I created the record label Mono Vs Stereo and lived a dream for 5 years. It all started with an internship at Gotee Records in the fall of 2000 while waiting tables at a local diner and living in a garage. So yes, I love a lot of music. I have a massive CD collection that is of course alphabetized with dividers. I spend way too much time in Best Buy and on the iTunes music store. I also play a sick air guitar. Because of that I recently finally bought a video game system just so I could rock out to Guitar Hero. I enjoy watching movies and ones like Jaws, Goonies, Die Hard, and Dumb & Dumber are some of my favorites.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Penn State in 2000 and joined my Dad as alumni and was later followed by my brother. While I was there I relaunched the campus radio station, WPSH, and became the Station Manager/Program Director as well as a morning DJ. The first non-air band I interviewed was Muse on the Red Hot Chili Peppers/Foo Fighters tour. Yes, I went to see Vanilla Ice in concert when his “rap/rock” album came out because the tickets were free and I was curious. I took an acting class while in college and played air guitar for 2 1/2 minutes as part of a solo mime skit. I even sold penny loafers at a Bass retail outlet in Hershey for 4 years. The first band I toured with was called Devoted Molded when I hit the road as manager/tour manager in the summer of 1999. Before PSU I became Editor In-Chief at The Fourth Estate (a newspaper) while attending Harrisburg Area Community College for my Associate’s Degree.
The songs of my High School graduation year were Oasis “Wonderwall”, Bush “Glycerine” and The Fugees “Killing Me Softly”. I wore the number 40 for basketball in high school but insisted on wearing a shirt under my jersey because I was so skinny. During a track meet the drawstring in my shorts busted and I had to run 200 meters with one hand holding my shorts up. Yes, I sang in choir, and mostly because there were cute girls in choir and I would get out of school for competitions. I also had my mom go buy me dcTalk’s “Jesus Freak” the day it came out because I was at basketball practice. My first job was at McDonald’s at the age of 14 and I hated it. I developed a love for Lebanon Sweet Bologna at an early age along with Tastykakes. And in case you can’t tell I am originally from PA (thats what people from there call it) but now you know that I was born on Groundhog’s Day.
