How To Not Finish A Book

You might think the answer is simply "don't start reading a book". But recently I realized that for me it's a different answer. I went to my bookshelf to grab my most recent reading (The Search for God and Guinness) and realized that I had five other books unfinished. Five! I know I had this problem years ago but the book total was usually around two. Not five. And it's not because any of the books are bad. I'd recommend each one of them. I simply get too excited to purchase a new book and start reading it before I've finished the one before. I say all this because I recently purchased a new book (Three Sheets: Drinking Made Easy!) that I'm really excited to start reading but knew I needed to finish it's predecessor and that's when I realized my unfinished book list is longer than I thought. Anyone else have the same problem?

Here's what I have been "reading" for the past 3 years.

The Search for God and Guinness by Stephen Mansfield

Conversations With Tom Petty

Healing is a Choice by Stephen Arterburn

When Bad Christians Happen to Good People by Dave Burchett

Strengthen Yourself in the Lord by Bill Johnson

Wild at Heart by John Eldredge

And here's to hoping I finish a few of these this year.

Friday Faves

This Friday Faves is dedicated to my recent 30 New Beers In 30 Days challenge. Here are 5 beers, in no particular order,  that I tried for the first time that I really loved.

Black Toad Dark Ale

Shiner Bohemian Black Lager: From Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, TX.

Yazoo Sly Rye Porter: The best porter I've had to date.

Yazoo Sue: Catch the reference to the Man In Black? It's 9% abv makes it available only at wine & liquor store for bottles. Only 100 cases were bottled in December 2009.

Yuengling Bock Beer: A celebratory beer for Yuengling's 180th anniversary last year finally made it to bottles this year.
