The future of music?

“The end result is a wildly varied body of music that we're able to present to the world in ways the confines of a major record label would never have allowed - from a 100% DRM-free, high-quality download, to the most luxurious physical package we've ever created.”

I’m really impressed with Trent’s new idea to offer music. It’s obvious that he a real understanding of his fanbase and from what it seems it’s really paying off. I think any artist out there who can afford to make their albums on their own and are out of a recording agreement need to seriously consider this idea and potentially implement something like this for their next album. With the right artist, like NIN, this can really take off and prove to be profitable for everyone involved. Just do the math on the Ultra-Deluxe Limited Edition version that Trent was offering.
