U2 3D

I finally got to see U2 3D tonight. Even though it cost $11.50 I did walk away with some sweet 3D glasses. I had to go all the way up to Opry Mills to see it, but it was well worth the drive. My old bud Peter Prevost (ex-Johnny Come Lately, currently Sanctus Real) and I went together. It was great hangin’ with him and catchin’ up afterwards at Broadway Brew. But back to U2. I’ve only got 2 thoughts on the film because you really need to see it for yourself.

1.) Only the most bad ass band in the world could pull off a 3D concert for theatres…and that’s U2.

2.) Bono sounds better as he gets older. It’s unreal. His vocals just floored me. Maybe I’m a wuss but I got goose bumps several times.

I’ve also got one more thought on my evening’s experience, though it doesn’t relate to the film as much as it does some of U2’s songs. The following lyrics took on a whole new meaning for me as I watched and listened tonight.

Is it getter better or do you feel the same

Will it make it easier on you now

You got someone to blame

- One

See the stone set in your eyes

See the thorn twist in your side

I’ll wait for you

 - With Or Without You
